Camarasaurus is a genus of large, quadrupedal sauropod dinosaur that lived in North America during the late Jurassic period. It was first described by Othniel Charles Marsh in 1877 and was one of the most common sauropods of its time. The most distinctive feature of Camarasaurus was its large, box-like skull, with two pairs of long, curved teeth in the front and one pair in the back. Its size ranged from 25 to 35 feet in length, and its weight ranged from about 10 to 20 tons. Its diet likely consisted of low-lying vegetation, and its long neck and tail allowed it to easily reach higher foliage. This is a nice display of one of the vertabrae that would have made up his spine.
