Seymchan meteorites are a type of pallasite meteorite, which are a type of stony-iron meteorite composed of olivine crystals in a matrix of iron-nickel. Seymchan meteorites are especially notable for their high amount of native iron, with some samples having a composition of around 90 % iron. It is believed to have originated from the core of a differentiated asteroid, which means it is a remnant of the earliest stages of the formation of the Solar System.
